Forbes Magazine has ranked Pearland as the 34th fastest growing suburb in the nation and the 10th fastest growing suburb in the state of Texas. Unlike other Houston suburbs, Pearland does not have any major industry and depends on a smaller suburban economy. Many residents of Pearland work at the Texas Medical Center.
