Part of the Houston metropolitan area, Dickinson, TX is a city of about 17,000 people. Dickinson is located about 28 miles from Houston and 19 miles from Galveston. The city itself is about 9.8 square miles. Dickinson has an extensive public school system that encompasses four elementary schools, two middle schools a Jr. High school and a high school there are a few private (catholic) schools as well.
